Manam fails to get Oscar nominaiton

 Liar's Dice, a Hindi- film directed by Geetu Mohandas, has been selected to represent India in the Best Foreign Film category of the Oscars next year. The film bagged two National Awards this year.Liar's Dice, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Geetanjali Thapa, was picked from 30 nominations received by the Film Federation of India. A secret jury assessed the nominations ' 13 Hindi films, seven Marathi, three Bengali, two Tamil, two Telugu and one Kannanda, Konkani and Malayalam each ' in Hyderabad since September 18.The movie is about a young mother in rural India who takes her daughter and a pet goat to Delhi in search of her missing husband. Set in a village near the Indo-Tibetan border, the film's story follows a young tribal woman whose husband has failed to return home after leaving to work in Delhi many months ago.She decides to go to Delhi with her young daughter to search for him and on the way meets an Army deserter, Siddiqui, who realizing the perils of the journey ahead for them, decides to accompany them to their destination.The film won many applauses from critics due to novel concept.Two Telugu films Minugurulu, directed by Ayodhya Kumar Krishnamsetty, and Manam directed by Vikram Kumar went unnoticed by Jury members.
