18 units of New Volvo 8400 city buses handed over to RTC

Volvo continued with deliveries of its New Volvo 8400 city buses (UBS II) in July ' handing over the first set of vehicles to the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) and the Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT). Both these institutions have reposed their faith in Volvo by placing repeat orders for the Volvo 8400 city bus.Volvo Buses has delivered 18 units of the city bus to APSRTC and 30 units to NMMT as part the fleet augmentation process in these cities. This is the initial lot of deliveries of the overall orders placed. These follow the successful handover of Volvo 8400 city buses to Puducherry and Solapur in June ' cities that procured Volvo buses for the first time.
Volvo is among the first to be ready and commence delivering city buses under the recent Urban Bus Specification (UBS) scheme to STUs. Volvo is driving quality of life in Indian cities, by modernising public transport and making it the preferred choice of city mobility.Volvo city buses are today operating in 15 cities across India with the objective to make public transport the preferred choice of mobility and attract citizens away from their personal vehicles.
The new Volvo 8400 city bus, built to meet the current Urban Bus Specifications comes with a host of new features, and enhances standards in safety, and passenger convenience & comfort.
