The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has decided to celebrate the annual karthika brahmtosavams of Goddess Padmavathi Devi at Tiruchanoor on a grand scale on par with Tirumala Srivari Brahmtosavams and with a special focus on women devotees who will be invited to this mega religious event through 'sowbhagyam' program which is likely to be held on November 15 and 16'.
According to TTD executive officer MG Gopal this year they are contemplating to invite women devotees belonging to 100 surrounding villages of Tiruchanoor to take part in the religious event in a big way through 'Sowbhagyam' program. The women devotees will be presented with glass bangles, vermilion and turmeric packets which are the identity of a married woman as per Hindu dharma and they will be invited for Brahmotsavams.
Tthe devotees can also take part in the 'Vastra Bahumanam', where they can present silk vastrams to goddess and a special counter will be arranged outside the temple to receive these donations every day from 3pm to 4pm during the brahmotsavams fromNovember 19 to November 27. This time for the sake of the pilgrims, huge LED screens will be arranged on all sides of Sri Padmapushakarini so that the pilgrims can witness the Snapanam of deities during 'Panchami Teertham.’
'We have already dispatched posters, pamphlets and other publicity materials to all the surrounding villages and also taken up publicity with 'Dharma Rathams' for the event', the EO added. Special laddu counters will be set up to market Srivari Laddus during the event.
