Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is about to announce his government’s new
industrial policy, which aims at clearing of all business proposals within
three weeks, which usually takes about two to three years for an industry. For
this, he will be creating `Chasing Cell’ in his office.
This
assurance was given by him today while interacting with industrialists associate
with FICCI, CII, FAPCCI and other industry bodies. He promised them that his
government would introduce a first-of-kind industrial policy with international
standards wherein investors would be able to start their businesses in
Telangana in shortest possible time in the country.
He said that
that an officer from Protocol Department would receive all the investors at the
Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and they would be directly brought to his
office.
Rao said that the new policy would be different in many ways. Normally an industry needs to get 24 to 30 different clearances to start a business. Now all such clearances’ would be provided through single-window system.
However, the only exception would be environment clearance, in which government of India too involves. He said that Pollution Control Board used to take up applications during their quarterly meetings and the same would be made available online.
Besides quick clearances, chief minister also projected uninterrupted power supply, 10 per cent of water from each irrigation project and other facilities required to set up industries in Telangana.
At the same time, chief minister also indicated his focus on improving infrastructure facilities in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad to cater the needs of about 2.5 crore people. He said that existing infrastructure like roads, drainage, water supply and other facilities would upgraded.

Chief minister also promised them that about 20 lakh acres of land would be used for industrialization, of which nearly three lakh acres would be allotted to the industries within a radius of 100-120 km of Hyderabad.
Explaining his plans in details to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the new state, Rao said that the Telangana GENCO has been asked to work out plans on the generation of 6,000 MW power on immediate basis. Shortage of power would be met by purchasing power from Chattisgarh and other neighboring States, he added.
