Hyderabad Dec 2 (): Agriculture Minister, P Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday urged the Central Government to offer adequate financial assistance to 231 drought hit Mandals in the state of Telangana. He called on Union Agriculture Minister Radhamohan Singh and submitted him a drought report and urged his help. The union minister assured us of sending a central team to Telangana in couple of days to assess the loss, Reddy told press persons in national capital later. Those districts drought affected are Ranga Reddy, Mahabubnagar, Nizamabad and Medak and Collectors from districts put it that 231 Mandals were hit by the drought Srinivas Reddy said. Telangana Government urged Radhamohan Singh to release Rs 2,514 cr towards drinking water and input subsidy. We expect Singh to visit the state for laying foundation stone for Horticulture University on Jan 7 he said and offered Rs 75 cr second phase of funds for horticulture sector. He exuded confidence that the team will recommend the Centre for necessary financial assistance for the drought hit Mandals.
