Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao approved the sanction of 5.99 per cent dearness allowance (DA) to the employees of the state government with effect from July 2014. With this increase the DA has gone up to 77.896 per cent.Minimum hike an employee stands to get is Rs 400 while the maximum hike is Rs 3335. The additional expenditure on the state exchequer because of this decision would be Rs 695 crore annually. Around 4.5 lakh government employees, including pensioners, will be benefited from the hike.Employees of zilla parishads, mandal parishads, gram panchayats, municipalities, municipal corporations and agriculture market committees will also get the hike. It will also benefit the employees of zilla grandhalaya samsthas, work charged establishment, teaching and non-teaching staff of aided institutions, including aided polytechnics.The government has also decided to to pay the September salary to the staff on September 28 in view of the Dasara and Bathkamma festivals. Meanwhile, TNGO delegation led by G Deviprasad met the Chief Minister at the Secretariat and thanked him for the decision. They also urged him to consider the long-pending demands like tenth PRC and health cards, among others.
