Andhra Pradesh government today constituted a nine-member advisory committee headed by municipal administration minister Dr P. Narayana to suggest suitable structure for the new capital of the state.
Other members of the committee are Rajya Sabha member Srujana Chowdary, Lok Sabha member Galla Jayadev, former MLA Mastan Rao, G V Sanjay Reddy from GVK Group, Bommidala Srinivas from GMR group, M Prabhakar Rao from Nuziveedu Seeds and Ch Srinivas Raju from People Capital. Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration will be member-secretary.
Three more international members are likely to be included in the panel. This will give suggestion on possible Raj Bhavan, Secretariat, Assembly, Council and other issues related to the capital.
Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh government is contemplating to propose amendments to the new Land Acquisition (RR) Act, in view of acquiring land for setting up new capital city and also for industrial corridors, national-level institutions of higher education, growth centres, smart cities and others.
All the joint collectors and revenue divisional officers of all the 13 districts in the state were asked to offer their suggestions for formulation of rules to facilitate operationalisation of the new LA Act.
Deputy chief minister KE Krishnamurthy through a video conference asked them to submit reports on available government lands, assigned lands, classification of different lands within two months. The present act came into force only from January 1, 2014 andis yet to be operationalised.
