Giving further momentum, the government asked the GHMC officials to come up with a report on unauthorized buildings on full tank level, buffer zones of lakes, tanks, nalas and government lands.

Hopefully they may submit a report soon, sources said. The survey is being taken on all the 18 circles in the city. After receiving the report, the govt would take action.Notwithstanding big hue and cry, the state government is going ahead with the demolition of illegal structures policy. Till Saturday, the corporation demolished about 130 structures.Interestingly, even the GHMC’s standing committee directed Municipal Commissioner to stop the demolition of buildings, but he is going ahead as the standing committee’s directions are not binding on him.
