The Union government has decided to continue UPA’s LPG subsidy and no hike in prices, according to Petroleum Mininster Dharmendra Pradhan. It will continue the number of subsidized refills given to consumers, he added.
"LPG will be provided to the consumers at the same rate at which it is being made available now. No additional burden will be imposed on them. The subsidy and the number of subsidised cylinders that people are getting will be continued by our government," Pradhan said.
On petrol and diesel prices, the minister said these are big issues and the central government is paying attention to them. However added, that Modi government’s policy is to neither the government nor the farmers or poor should feel burdened. He agreed that there is a need to increase oil and gas production in the country.
