Telangana Chief Minister
K Chandrasekhar Rao expressed his dissatisfaction over the union budget
presented in the Lok Sabha and accused Centre not doing justice with the
newly-formed Telangana state.
The Chief Minister
criticized that but for a horticultural university sanctioned to Telangana in
the budget no other project has been given. Horticultural university sanction
was also mentioned in the State Reorganization Bill and therefore, it is not a
new announcement, he added.
The union budget simply mentioned that the
commitments of the Reorganization Act will be fulfilled but no specific
announcement has been made for Telangana. Overall, the Chief Minister has
criticized the budget presented today.
"There
is nothing that the Centre has given afresh. We sought a lot for the
development of Telangana from the Centre. But the Centre has not done justice
to Telangana in the budget," Rao
added.
He said
the Finance Minister merely stated that the Centre is committed to issues
mentioned in the Reorganisation Act, but he has not given clarity on any issue,
Rao said.
